North Dakota seeks medical marijuana tracking system

The North Dakota health department is accepting requests for proposals for a traceability system to help monitor the state’s impending medical marijuana program.

RFPs can be submitted until 3 p.m. CT Dec. 27.

North Dakota voters approved an MMJ program in November 2016, and state lawmakers earlier this year crafted regulations that the governor approved in April.

Medical cannabis sales aren’t expected to begin for another year.

Meanwhile, the health department is taking public comments on proposed regulations for the program through Dec. 26. Public meetings are scheduled in six cities next month.
