Here’s a classic peanut butter and chocolate candy recipe upgraded with a cannabis infused twist! These chocolate covered peanut butter balls are made with cannabutter making them one of the most delicious ways to medicate! If you want a stronger version of these treats, try adding cannabis oil or cannabis distillate to the peanut butter mixture before blending.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 cups creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup cannabutter, melted

For a sugar free version, substitute a sugar free confectioners blend like Swerve and use sugar free peanut butter.

Coating

  • 4 cups (24 ounces) semisweet (or unsweetened) chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (infused or not)

Directions

  1. Using an electric mixer (or by hand) slowly combine the peanut butter, sugar and melted cannabutter until smooth and thoroughly mixed.
  2. Roll into 1-inch balls and set aside
  3. In a double boiler, melt the chocolate chips and the coconut oil together on low heat, stirring well until melted.
  4. Using a toothpick, stab each ball and dunk ¾ of the way into the chocolate, leaving a bare spot on top. Set on wax paper to cool.
  5. Once you have dunked all the balls, place them in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  6. Enjoy!

Makes about 6 dozen 1” balls

Can I make these with canna-coconut oil instead of cannabutter? I am sensitive to dairy so I only use coconut oil not butter. I have dairy free chocolate chips for the coating and Im going to make this as soon as u let me know! Thx 🙂

I made these and like everything else I made with cannabutter it has too strong a taste. Is there a way to hide the grass flavor when you make edibles? My butter is always dark green and kinda stinky and that smell and taste turns me off. I was hoping peanut butter would hide it better but it dont. Do i need to try a new butter recipe? Does coconut oil make a difference? Help! I really want to make my own edibles but they so far all taste bad as the butter does. A useful answer will make me forever in your debt! Thanks, Joey.

Hi Joey, I am not sure how you are preparing your cannabutter but I can tell you that if you water cure your flower first before using it to make your butter it will have way less of that smell and taste that you are trying to avoid. You could use this method to produce a much cleaner coconut oil infusion as well which would also work in this recipe. Another option would be to use regular butter and add some cannabis distillate or other relatively clean extract to the mixture if it is available to you. You can find more information about water curing here: http://mediblereview.com/water-curing-dried-cannabis/

I haven’t personally been able to completely get rid of the cannabis taste in my edibles, but that never stops people from buying them!

It is hard to completely eliminate the taste completely, but some foods do a better job of masking the flavor better than others. If you use distillate without the terps re-added or an extract made from water cured flower it can almost be totally eliminated in some recipes, but it definitely is recipe dependent.

I just made a batch of infused rice crispie treats last night.

Can I substitute canna coconut oil unrefined instead of canna butter?

    1. admin

You certainly can! I use infused coconut oil often in this recipe, its tastes great. Just do your math as best as you can so you dont over do it 😉

Can I use infused mct oil insted of butter?

    1. admin

Yes, you can use any infused oil. MCT oil is not strong flavored, so it won’t effect the taste.

Can you use canna butter instead of Coconut oil for the chocolate coating?

    1. admin

You most certainly can! The chocolate may not set at room temperature fully, so you probably would have to keep them refrigerated.
