It has been my experience that many Cannabis infused products like these being sold in the Colorado market rarely contain the advertised cannabinoid amounts, so I decided to test the Stratos tinctures myself to see. Using the tCheck 2 portable UV Spectrometer (used to test the potency of your homemade infusions), I tested samples from all 4 of the tinctures to see how they fared. The first bottle stated it contained 107.4mg THC and 104.4mg of CBD. I put 4 drops into the tCheck 2 and let it run; 45 seconds later I was given a reading of 5.2mg/ml of active cannabinoids. As I am testing for CBV only, this is a reading of the THC and CBD together. This comes to 208mg of cannabinoids, right on par with the reported 211.8mg.
The Experience
Like the previous tincture line I tested from Stratos, the effects from these tinctures are as clean as can be. There is absolutely no hashy taste whatsoever, just a mild lingering tangerine flavor. The flavor is so light, it also is almost imperceptible at first; kind of more like a smell than a taste. The aftertaste is where I better detected the slight tangerine flavor, it leaves a nice refreshing taste in your mouth – something completely uncommon in most other cannabis infused tinctures. No herbal taste here!
