Portable dab pens like the Lookah Swordfish review are some of the handiest tools I have ever owned. I love being able to have my dabs handy whenever and wherever I want them. Most of the dab pens on the market are pretty much the same idea, just some execute the concept a little better than others.
The problem today is sorting through all the junk in order to find the gem. Many manufacturers use substandard coils that burn out prematurely, costing you more in the long run. Others use inferior batteries that can turn your pen into a paperweight in no time.
Enter Lookah. Since 2009 Lookah Glass has been producing high-quality glass water pipes, bongs, and dab rigs. What some people don’t know is that Lookah Glass also provides a growing range of dab pens and vaporizers like this Lookah Swordfish.
The Lookah Swordfish Review
The Lookah Swordfish dab pen is a portable vaporizer for wax concentrates. It uses a 710-thread connection and comes with 2 porous quartz buckets. At first glance, you will notice it looks a bit different from your garden variety wax pens.

The Look
According to Lookah, its streamlined design “is inspired by the depths of the ocean where the elusive swordfish hunts”. Not 100% sure I get the reference, but I do like the design. At first, I thought the Lookah Swordfish was going to be too big, but when it arrived those fears were immediately put to rest.
The Lookah Swordfish review is uniquely shaped and fits very well in your hand. I first thought it would be uncomfortable to hold, but again I was wrong; The ergonomics are pretty close to perfect. The button is perfectly placed to hit with the side of your thumb.
A clamshell bracket, complete with magnetic lid, snaps open for easy access to the atomizing dish. This is also easily accomplished with just an instinctive flick of the thumb, kind of like opening a Zippo© lighter. Inside you will find a large quartz bucket.
Operating the Lookah Swordfish
To turn on the Lookah Swordfish review vape pen, give it 5 quick button presses. The device will start a preheat function while the lights flash in sequence. Once preheated, you can adjust the voltage with 2 presses of the power button. Choose from green at 3.5V, blue at 3.7V, or white at 3.9V.
The three voltage settings allow you to control the strength of your vaping session. The lower voltage setting preserves the terpenes and flavonoids of your wax. As the voltage goes up, so does the temperature which allows you to create massive clouds.
When you’re ready to dab, simply press and hold the button to enjoy the tasty vapor. The mouthpiece / air path is made of borosilicate glass which will ensure that you are not being robbed of any flavors. Its pretty thick, but I would not really want to drop test this one.

Some Additional Info
The Lookah Swordfish comes with a 950mAh rechargeable battery and utilizes the USB-C standard cable to charge. I for one am happy for the use of USB-C, as I’m trying to phase out those old cables. The Swordfish does have an auto power-off feature that activates with 5 minutes of inactivity.
I will have to admit, when I initially took this out of the box, I was disappointed to not find an included dab tool. Then I turned it over and found the cleverly placed tool was inserted into the base next to the charge port. Stealthy! It’s a petite tool, but I found it adequate.
The Warranty
Lookah offers a 3-month warranty on all their vaporizers. The 3-month warranty does not cover replacement consumables such as coils & atomizers that have worn out through normal usage. Personally, I think the 3-month warranty is the weakest link in the otherwise strong Lookah chain. A 1-year warranty on this stuff would ease more minds.
That being said, I own several Lookah devices and have yet to have any issues whatsoever. It would be nice though to have a little better piece of mind just in case.
My thoughts
I really enjoyed the Lookah Swordfish a great deal. It hits very smooth and is quite powerful for its size. Battery life is pretty decent, no issues getting through a day out and about. I like the glass flip-up lid/straw combo, its easy to flick open and closed, easy to load, and easy to clean.
The porous quartz cups work really well, produce excellent flavor and are decently sized. I think you could probably put a quarter of a gram in there, but I would not personally. These types of rigs work better with less per load.
The use of USB-C for charging is a big thing for me, and the hidden dab tool is a nice touch. The overall ergonomics are spot on, I wouldn’t change a thing. Time will tell how long these coils last, but I expect that with proper care they will be just fine.

The Lookah Swordfish is reasonably priced already, but if you’re on abudget you can always use a promo code to bring the price down a little.
I have been impressed with the quality of products coming from Lookah, and this one brought that level even higher. Come see why the Lookah Swordfish is quickly becoming the number one seller of portable wax dab pens!
How do you clean the Lookah Swordfish?
The quartz cup can be cleaned with an ISO Alcohol soaked cotton swab. As they are porous, I do not recommend soaking them in ISO, they take forever to dry out. Clean the cup regularly and it will be much easier to clean the Lookah Swordfish.

Can you use dry herb in this? Mayge like a different cup?
While it is technically possible, this is not the best heating chamber for burning flower. It would work to an extent, but I would not recommend it.
